Bauer Built Manufacturing Inc. began operations in 1979 as a general repair shop in Paton, Iowa. In 1989, Vaughn Bauer began applying their own unique innovations to build planter bars the market place was asking for. This led to the creation of the Bauer planter frame, where the Bauer motto has always been simple but effective, "Build the best at a fair price".

Now 16 years later, Bauer Built has chosen to make its supreme quality and productivity available to hard-working farmers all across the world. Effective May 1, 2002, Bauer Built Mfg. and Deere & Co. have formed a partnership so that John Deere dealers worldwide will now have the opportunity to sell Bauer Built planter frames.

 

The new DB Planters start with a Bauer Built frame, complete with markers and hydraulic system. Then, John Deere performance-built row units, seed drive, vacuum systems, and monitoring components are added.
